Welkom op mijn weblog. Ik ben Elly Bouman en in augustus 2008 als animator afgestudeerd aan de Kunstacademie St. Joost in Breda. Op deze weblog vind je een globaal overzicht van wat ik zoals gemaakt heb sinds ik begon te studeren op de kunstacademie en daarna.

Droomwevers / Dream weavers

Voor de Stichting Culturele Droomwevers ben ik gevraagd om een animatie te maken onder een van hun liedjes. Ik heb gekozen om een animatie te maken voor De Bij.

I was ask by an Institution: Stichting Culturele Droomwevers, to make an animation for one of there songs. I thoose to make an animation about the Bee

In mei houdt de Bij zijn trouwpartij
In een bakkerij dichtbij het IJ.

Project Norwich - Breda

Dit is een project tussen Norwich School for Art & Design (GB) en Kunstacademie St. Joost (Nederland).
We moeten in vier weken tijd met elkaar animaties maken via het internet. Na de vier weken gaan we elkaar eindelijk echt ontmoeten in Norwich en word alles geëxposeerd tijdens het Arora animatiefestival. Het project heet Encounters (ontmoetingen): www.animationlab.info

Final Animation

Internship

Als stage heb ik een freelanceopdracht bij een uitgeverij van half juni tot eind augustus 2007. Ze maken daar schoolboeken voor het basisonderwijs. Op dit moment word er gewerkt aan een geschiedenis methode. Mijn opdracht is om 2 filmpjes te maken ter introductie van het lesmateriaal. I'm having a internship at a publisher from half June till end of August 2007. They make schoolbooks for the primary school. On this moment they are working on a method for history.
My task is to make 2 movingstoryboards (films) as introduction.

Showreel van animaties die ik gemaakt heb in de periode 2005-2007 op kunstacademie St. Joost.

Showreel of animations I have made in the period 2005-2007 at St. Joost Art Academy.
I edited it on the song Frosti made by Bjork, really beautyful music.
But unfortunately the audio content is owned or licensed by WMG and not allowded to put on youtube. So I just picked something of the youtube soundlibrary and swapped audio.

Wolfje

Een animatie gemaakt op multiplane (meerdere glasplaten) d.m.v. cut-out techniek en allerlei materialen.

Een gedicht door Geerd de Kockere:
Jij was al groot en ik was nog klein,
toen speelden we wolfje en jij wilde hem zijn,
ik liep, ik liep, ik liep naar de top,
maar jij was daar eerst en at mij toen op.

but you where there first and ate me.

The kite

A third years school project, working in a group: make a film with life-action and animation. They split the class in 4 groups, I worked with Lisa Hochstenbach en Nicole Volbeda and Derek Brand.

Story: A boy finds a kite, but at the end of the rope is the owner of the kite, a girl.

Hopeless II

This animation is made for a theory subject. We got a script of a scene and had to make a moving-storyboard or small film. The script was quite hopeless so I ask Dominique Bongers to make together Hopeless II. It´s a 2d and 3d clay animation.

Girl and a ball

We also get lessons in Maya, definitely not one of me favourite programs. It´s my worst animation and I though that you don´t want to miss it. The story is about a interaction between a girl and a ball.

Body: Past and Present

In the second year I did a minor autonomous art, it was more a experimental period.

Hopeless I

A second years school project, working in a group: make a small puppet animation. They split the class in 5 groups, I worked with Dominique Bongers and Bianca Ansems. We kept-up a weblog (dutch) for the work process: www.bloggers.nl/hopeloosverliefd

Story: A women who is so deperate seeking that she considers burglar as perfect man.

We have made tests to practice animating with puppets. Here you see one of them.

Illustration - Join a walk

We had to make illustratios according: subject, time and place.
I choose: The path between the City of Damnation to the Celestial Empire, timeless and everywhere.

Mouse and the bottle

A second year schooltask: make a small animation about an interaction between a character and a object.
It's about a mouse who have found a bottle of alcohol.

A memory

A first year schooltask: make a small animation concerning Berlin.
I have dropped the subject Berlin and made a animation with paparboard about a girl who runs around.

Hairy

A first year schooltask: make a small film about an antagonism.
That became a film about lots of hair and getting bold.
